Congratulations to Baris Efe, and Cagri Karakurt, who passed the Geometry /Topology Qualifying Exam.

MSU at the Holomorphic Curves Focused Research Group Workshop at the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton, NJ, June 2005

In attendance were graduate students Inanc Baykur, Selahi Durusoy, Adam Knapp, and Bugra Ozer as well as Casim Abbas, Olga Buse, Ron Fintushel and Tom Parker. Also there were MSU graduates Slaven Jabuka, Tom Mark, and Grisha Mihalkin.

June 2004

NSF Awards RTG Grant to MSU Geometry/Topology Group

The National Science Foundation has awarded the MSU Geometry/Topology Group a Research Training Group Grant to support students and postdocs interested in geometry and topology. The co-principal investigators are Ron Fintushel, Effie Kalfagianni, Tom Parker, and Jon Wolfson, and it will be implemented by entire Geometry/Topology Group. The program will begin in September 2005. We are actively seeking applications for graduate school and for postdoctoral positions related to the RTG grant.
