Phase separation in polymer electrolyte membranes.
The nanoscale modeling of pore formation and ionic transport in polymer electrlolyte membranes includes minimization of energy
functionals and fourth and sixth order nonlocal PDEs. In the image at above red indicates regions
of high polymer content and blue regions of high solvent (water) content. The flow maximizes surface area while minimizing bending moments.

2007 Mid-West Conference on Systems Biology
The conference will be held October 27, 28
(Saturday and Sunday) on the first floor of the BPS building. On October 27,
there is another conference, Michigan Undergraduate Conference on
Mathematics, to be held together with our conference. So you will see lots
of young faces. The keynote speaker will be Prof. Waterman (pictured) from
USC.
